Professional Nail Technology Program
The 400-hour Nail Technology Program at Summit Salon Academy – Weirton is designed to provide the knowledge, technical skills, and business training needed to succeed as a licensed nail technician. Students receive training in manicure and pedicure services, artificial nail applications, nail art, sanitation practices, and advanced nail care techniques.
With Pivot Point LAB supporting classroom instruction, students gain both the theoretical foundation and hands-on practice required to build confidence and deliver exceptional guest experiences while preparing for a sustainable career in the beauty industry.

Program Description
The 400-hour Nail Technology Program at Summit Salon Academy – Weirton combines theory and practical instruction to prepare students for every aspect of a professional nail career. Training is structured around two key components:
Theoretical knowledge – building a strong foundation in nail structure, sanitation, safety, and design.
Practical experience – applying that knowledge through supervised practice on live models.
Program Breakdown:
Theory: 150 Hours
Lab/Practical: 250 Hours
Schedule Options:
We offer both full-time and part-time schedule options to meet the needs of our students. Program length depends on the schedule selected.
The course is taught in English using lectures, demonstrations, visual aids, textbook study, and hands-on practice with live models (under licensed instructor supervision).
Upon completion of the Nail Technology Program, graduates are prepared to sit for the West Virginia State Board Exam to obtain their Nail Technician license and begin their professional career.
Program Objective
To prepare students for the West Virginia State Board of Nail Technology Examination and provide the skills and knowledge necessary to build a successful career as a licensed Nail Technician.
Grading Scale
- 100-94% – Honor Roll
- 93 -89% – Above Average
- 88–81% – Average
- 80% and Below – Unsatisfactory
