Program Description
TThe 700-hour Advanced Aesthetics Program at Summit Salon Academy – Weirton provides both theory and practical instruction to prepare students to perform professional skincare services and advanced treatments. Training is divided into two essential components:
Theoretical knowledge – building a strong foundation in the science of skin and aesthetics.
Practical experience – applying those concepts through hands-on services to develop real-world skills.
The program is taught in English using a variety of instructional techniques including lectures, demonstrations, visual aids, textbook study, practice on live models (under the supervision of licensed instructors), and testing.
Students receive specialized training in advanced skin care techniques, including:
Lash Extensions
Brow Tinting
Waxing Services
Chemical Peels
Advanced Facial Treatments
Gel Polish & Gel Nails (for enhanced marketability)
Program Breakdown:
Theory: 200 Hours
Lab/Practical: 500 Hours
Total Program Length: 700 Hours | Approximately 22 Weeks Full Time or 43 Weeks Part Time
This program is designed to ensure students graduate with the skills, confidence, and professional readiness to begin a successful career in aesthetics and skin care services.
Program Objective
The objective is to prepare the student to qualify for state registration and to become a Licensed Skin Care and Nail Specialist and enter the field of beauty.
The grading scale for all academic work is as follows:
- 100-94% – Honor Roll
- 93 -89% – Above Average
- 88–81% – Average
- 80% and Below – Unsatisfactory
